Student Leadership

At St. Mary’s we believe student leadership is crucial in fostering a vibrant, inclusive, and empowered school community. It provides students with opportunities to develop essential life skills such as communication, teamwork, and problem-solving while also encouraging a sense of responsibility and accountability.

Through various different leadership roles, students at St. Mary’s learn to advocate for their peers, contribute to school decision-making processes, and serve as role models for younger students. This active participation not only enhances their personal growth but also strengthens the overall spirit and culture of the school, preparing them to be confident, compassionate leaders in the broader community.

Currently working alongside Bright Leaders, the students at St. Mary’s regularly engage with different outside agencies including the Sodexo catering company and the Shine Mental Health team on matters relating to school life. Students are instrumental in policy making and have set up a successful Student Care Team which offers peer support to those in need of a friendly face and a listening ear.
