Pupils Shine in Shakespeare Symposium

A group of secondary school pupils standing in a wide line across a professional theatre stage at the Grand Theatre, Blackpool. They are smiling and dressed in black performance attire, positioned under vibrant blue and green stage spotlights. The grand, ornate gold proscenium arch and heavy stage curtains frame the scene, capturing the excitement of their Shakespearean performance.

Our pupils recently had the extraordinary opportunity to step onto the stage of a professional theatre and bring the works of William Shakespeare to life.

Performing in such a prestigious setting as the Grand Theatre was both an exciting and enriching experience, allowing students to immerse themselves in the language, drama, and enduring relevance of Shakespeare’s writing.

From the first rehearsal to the final curtain call, pupils demonstrated remarkable dedication, confidence, and creativity. They worked tirelessly to master complex dialogue, explore character motivations, and collaborate as an ensemble, skills that extend far beyond the stage. The experience of performing in a professional venue added an extra layer of authenticity, inspiring students to rise to the occasion and deliver truly memorable Performances.

This experience not only deepened pupils’ appreciation for classical theatre but also helped build confidence, communication skills, and a strong sense of achievement. We are incredibly proud of all those involved and look forward to seeing how they continue to grow as performers and
learners.
