Are you interested in training to become a teacher?

St Mary’s is part of a growing number of educational institutions leading the way for more school-led teacher training. Being able to closely work with and support who we train as teachers helps us in delivering the best outcomes for the students in our schools.

We have vacancies now to start training from September 2018 and we would be very interested to hear from you if you are thinking of becoming a teacher, or know someone who is. We’re looking for people who have (or will have) a degree, have a passion for teaching and want to inspire young people to fulfil their potential.

We’d love you to come in and have a chat with us about the exciting teacher training opportunities available in primary, secondary and post-16.

Our programme does not involve travelling to a university, you can stay very close to home, and you will gain an additional qualification as a Chartered Teacher from the PSHE Association.

You can contact Aly Spencer on This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. should you require more information. Aly manages our teacher training programmes and would be delighted to chat to you about the course and future opportunities in teaching.

We can also provide you with support and guidance on your application form and offer you school experience if you just want a taster of what teaching could be like.

For further information on what becoming a teacher might involve more generally, you can also visit www.education.gov.uk/get-into-teaching.

We look forward to hearing from you.
