On Monday 20th November, a group of 32 students set out on a week- long adventure to Castlerigg Manor, our Diocesan Retreat Centre in the heart of the Lake district. Despite the awful weather that meant getting out and about in the hills fairly challenging (and very muddy!), the group had a fabulous time together, making new friends, learning new skills, and reflecting on their St Mary’s Journey so far.
We experienced some powerful prayer times in the Chapel, played lots of games, had a rather unusual fashion show, created drama, artwork, bracelets, clay and keyrings, and many of us were taken in by Mr Riley, the “friendly terrorist” in our trade justice simulation game! A huge thank you to our Y10 students who really got involved and ensured we had a great trip, and to Mr Riley, Miss Webb and Miss Kay for giving up their week to accompany us.
