On Tuesday 2nd May 21 students from Years 10, 11 and 12 set off on a flying visit to London for the day. The trip was organized by Mr Robinson and was to develop the students’ knowledge of how the travel industry works. The group flew to London on the 0805 flight and spent the day visiting as many attractions as possible during the day. We visited the Science Museum in the Great Exhibition complex at South Kensington. Took in Buckingham Palace, walked along the Mall to Trafalgar Square, up Haymarket to Piccadilly and
Leicester Square and spent some time exploring the shops around Regent Street and Oxford Street. However the high-light of the day was a flight on the London Eye, the tallest observational wheel in the world which moves at 26cm per second - a full revolution taking over 30 minutes. Planning is already underway for the next travel and tourism trip to Paris; Y11 students need to sign up soon for a place on the course in next year’s L6th course.
