Congratulations to Ronan Barratt, year 11 for winning Blackpool’s Arts Society Award.
Ronan’s stunning self -portrait has been selected from hundreds of artistic and photographic entries to the Seasiders competition from schools across Blackpool and Fylde; Ronan is overall winner!
St Mary’s, as we know is brimming with creative talent and has won the coveted prize for the fourth time! The Art and Photography Department are extremely proud of the achievements of our students. It’s all happening on the 3rd Floor!
The news came as a surprise to Ronan; currently one of St Mary’s sporting talents. He has proven to be as successful on the drawing board as he is on the pitch! He is certainly one to watch in the future!
Ronan’s portrait, created using graphite pencil is one of a number of pieces entered this year.
In addition, Chloe Jewers (Year 11) has been highly commended by the Blackpool Arts Society for her safari inspired study of a Giraffe created in mixed media. Well done to Chloe. Amongst other students to be recognised this year for their creative efforts is Emilia Taraszkiewicz (Year 11).
