Mr. I. Phillips
Cambridge National Level 2
For a small child there is no division between playing and learning; between the things he or she does ‘just for fun’ and things that are ‘educational.’ The child learns while living and any part of living that is enjoyable is also play. This practical Child Development course is for anyone thinking about working with children covering all aspects of child development from birth to five years old including pre and post-natal care of women and babies, nutrition requirements for 0-5 year olds and learning through play.
This course is designed with both practical and theoretical elements, which will prepare students for further qualifications in Child Care, Health and Social Care, Psychology, Sociology and Biology as well as a pathway to continue onto Sixth form and Health Academy. Careers which would make use of skills developed in this course include Teaching, Paediatric Nursing, Midwifery and Social Work.
