Sixth form Art and Photography students in Vogue.

Art students visit ManchesterSixth form art and photography students experienced gallery visits to the Manchester and  Whitworth gallery. The visit forms a part of the A Level ;learning experience as students were exposed to art and photographic work s of immense historical significance, educating students as to the culture, trends and society in both historical and contemporary society; upon return to college, students produce a visual response to their most inspiring works.

The  Manchester gallery boasted works by The Dutch Masters, Whitworth exhibited extensive  works by  artists such as David Bomberg, Paul Nash and Lucien Freud to name a few.   .

Notably, the most exciting part of the trip was the Manchester gallery’s Vogue ; 100 years in fashion .Decade by decade, the exhibition explores British Vogue’s unfaltering position at the forefront of new fashion, its dedication to the best in design, and its influence on the UK’s wider cultural stage during some of the most inventive and exciting periods in style, taste, the arts and society. Exquisite vintage prints and garments from the early twentieth century, ground-breaking photographs from renowned fashion shoots, unpublished work and original magazines were brought together in this first retrospective survey of the celebrated magazine.
