St Mary’s Year 11 students are celebrating a fantastic set of GCSE and vocational results today, with achievements surpassing pre-pandemic levels.
The Academy is delighted to report strong performance across the curriculum, with Attainment 8 scores—which measure performance across a broad range of subjects—increasing once again.
Core Subject Highlights
- English: 72% of students achieved Grade 4 or better.
- Maths: 66% of students achieved Grade 4 or better.
- Combined: Over 60% of students secured a Grade 4+ in both English and Maths.
Students achieved high standards across a wide variety of academic subjects, including English, Maths, Science, Computer Science, Art and Photography, French, Geography, Media, and Textiles. Vocational courses also saw brilliant results, particularly in Business Studies, Creative Design, ICT, and PE.

“We are delighted for our students. They have worked extremely hard and should be immensely proud of their achievements. Our staff have once again gone above and beyond to support them in preparing for these important qualifications.
This success reflects our commitment to offering a broad, supportive curriculum where every student can excel. I would like to thank our families for their partnership and support throughout their children’s journey with us. We are now very much looking forward to welcoming many of our Year 11s back into Year 12 this September.”
