Is this course for me?
The EDUQAS A Level Film Studies course is a two-year program designed for students with a passion for cinema. It delves into the history, theory, and practice of film, equipping students with the critical and analytical skills needed to understand and evaluate films from various genres and time periods.
What you will study
● Students will explore a wide range of films, including Hollywood classics, independent films, world cinema, and documentaries. They will gain a solid foundation in film theory, covering key concepts such as genre, narrative, mise-en-scène, cinematography, editing, and sound. Students will have the opportunity to develop their own filmmaking skills through practical projects, such as producing a short film or a screenplay. They will learn to analyse films critically, considering their historical, social, and cultural contexts, as well as their aesthetic and technical qualities.
