Unplanned Absence (e.g., Illness)

If your child is unable to attend school due to illness or other unforeseen circumstances:

Reporting Absence: Parents/carers should call the school to report their child’s absence before 8:30 AM on the day of the absence and on each subsequent day of absence.
Expected Return: Please advise the school when your child is expected to return.
Voicemail Option: A voicemail facility is available for your convenience if you need to report the absence outside of school hours.

Planned Absence (e.g., Medical or Dental Appointment)

We understand that certain appointments may be necessary during school hours:

Notification: Attending a medical or dental appointment will be authorised if the school is notified in advance. Parents/carers should email details to [email protected].
Appointment Timing: We encourage scheduling these appointments outside school hours where possible. If this is not feasible, please ensure that your child is out of school for the minimum time necessary.

Exceptional Circumstances Absence (e.g., Family Emergency)

For absences due to exceptional circumstances:

Individual Consideration: Each request for term-time absence is considered on an individual basis, taking into account the specific circumstances and background context.
Application Process: Please print off and complete the ‘Parental Request Form for Leave Due to Exceptional Circumstances’ (linked below). Please return the completed form to the admin office for the attention of the “Attendance Hub”.
