Earlier in June, we had the absolute pleasure of welcoming Year 5 pupils from across our community of Catholic primary schools. Children joined us from St Kentigern’s, St Cuthbert’s, Christ the King, St John Vianney’s, St John’s, Holy Family, and Our Lady’s for a wonderful series of transition taster days.
Throughout their time with us, the children engaged in beautiful spiritual and creative work by making their own rosary beads and taking part in moments of reflection and meditation. They also explored our core Cornelian values, alongside enjoying a flavour of academic life through Maths and English taster sessions.
The children were an absolute delight to host, demonstrating wonderful manners, curiosity, and enthusiasm. They are a true credit to their schools
and their families, and we hope they left feeling excited about the next steps in their educational journeys.
Our own pupil chaplains excelled in their roles during the day. They took the greatest care of the Year 5 pupils, guiding them around the building and offering a warm, reassuring welcome.
It was truly a memorable experience for everyone involved, and we look forward to welcoming many of these familiar faces back to St Mary’s in the future.
