This week marked the end of an era for our fantastic Year 11 students. The Leavers celebrations began on Monday with a beautiful Leavers Mass, with
moving speeches from senior students Maja and Ryan, alongside live music performed by our talented Year 11 musicians.
On Wednesday, following their final Maths exam, Year 11 gathered in the canteen for a well-deserved Leavers Breakfast, followed by their final assembly.
During the assembly a number of students were recognised for their exceptional hard work and dedication over the years. Ryan received the Sister
Maureen Award for outstanding contributions to the school community, and Isla was honoured with the Sam Brown Award for excellence in PE. This year, the Anna Miziuk Award for Art and Design Excellence was dedicated to Anna herself, ensuring her memory remains a cherished part of this cohort’s legacy.
The assembly concluded on a high note with a special leavers’ video, packed with fond memories of the students’ time at St Mary’s and heartfelt
messages from staff. This was accompanied by a unique signature video of the year group, which was brilliantly organised by Abbeygail.
The memorable day drew to a close on the school entrance steps, where students, form tutors, and staff gathered for one final group photograph
together.
It was a morning of reflection and celebration, and we wish our Year 11s every success in the next steps of their journey.
