| Dear All We need your help to keep alive our hopes and plans for a “new” school at St. Marys.As many of you will know from the national and local news the Building Schools for the Future programme is now under threat of being stopped. On Monday the Rt. Hon Michael Gove, Secretary of State for Education informed the House of Commons that the funding for six Blackpool Schools’ BSF programme will be stopped. The programmes at St Mary’s Catholic College and Highfield will both be reviewed over the next few weeks to determine whether funding will be made available.
The plans we have developed for St. Mary’s and Christ the King represent a once in a lifetime opportunity to rebuild or redevelop our whole school. A colour copy of these plans can be found using the link below:

I am writing in support of the redevelopment of St Mary’s Catholic College, Blackpool, one of the BSF projects currently under review.
The plans developed by the Eric Wright Group will transform the present secondary and sixth form accommodation to create a learning environment fit for the 21st Century and enable the vision of St. Mary’s Catholic College, the nearby Christ the King Primary School and Christ the King Parish Church to come together on one site sharing expertise, resources and a commitment to the Catholic community of Blackpool. The school welcomes people of all faiths who wish to have a Christian based education.
Our children deserve this which represents a “once in a lifetime” opportunity for them and also for generations of young people who will follow them through the College. It will also bring much needed high quality facilities for the wider community both in the Grange Park area and in Blackpool as a whole. It would be a devastating blow for us all in the area if this investment in our future were to be cut.
